Hannah Park

Lead Consultant

One of Brisbane’s most sought-after brand and marketing consultants, Hannah combines her unique background as an artist with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a masters in business majoring in marketing and advertising. She believes that spectacular and impactful ideas form when science and art come together.

Hannah has applied this philosophy in roles in a digital agency and in a global creative agency, running integrated campaigns for clients including the University of Queensland, Department of Tourism and Institute of Molecular Bioscience. She prides herself on not only delivering beautiful and captivating work, but creating brands and campaigns that move the needle.

A born entrepreneur, Hannah has run her own marketing consultancy, partnered in a three-storey café, as well as worked in-house as a marketing manager. This perspective gives We Are Brooklyn an empathetic edge when managing projects and communicating with clients.

In the borough? When Hannah isn’t lost in her creative universe painting eye-catching abstract art, she can be spotted getting around the borough on her scooter or walking along the river with a large almond latte.

Nikki Shields

Account Executive

Passionate about consumers and hospitality, Nikki boasts a wealth of experience working for clients including Byron Bay Bluesfest, Discover Canada, and Moët & Chandon.

Her energetic and strategic approach to public relations has helped bring many restaurants, bars, and other businesses to life. A strong collaborator and creative thinker, Nikki thrives in the face of challenges and is motivated by the satisfaction of seeing her clients’ businesses flourish.

Nikki holds a Bachelor of Business Management (International Business) from UQ, a Bachelor of Mass Communication degree from QUT, and has also studied abroad at the University of Leeds in the UK.

In the borough? Nikki lives by the motto that life is better with a margarita in hand, so, in the name of research, she can often be found frequenting new foodie haunts and bars throughout the borough and beyond.

Belinda Affran

Senior Designer

Bel creates compelling visual assets and identities for brands, always keeping her eye on international trends and drawing inspiration from sources including art, fashion, architecture, design, and textiles.

Bel holds a bachelor’s degree in graphic design, combining studies in the interior, product, graphic and 3D design. Having built a career of over 15 years working closely with the architectural and interior design industry, Bel is passionate about creating truly integrated designs that translate far beyond the screen.

In the borough? When Bel isn’t creating groundbreaking work for other businesses, she can be found at home designing custom wallpaper and art for her own new home and supervising her two boys’ art and craft projects.

Kyra Shakspeare

General Manager

A consumer public relations specialist for more than 10 years, Kyra is an influential and insightful practitioner who has led and managed teams for high-profile clients including Land Rover, Cotton On Group, and GlaxoSmithKline. Originally from Sydney, Kyra has worked for global and national agencies in both Sydney and Brisbane and won Mumbrella’s award for corporate social responsibility and the PRIME Award for PR campaign of the year.

With a bachelor’s degree in anthropology and a master’s degree in communication management, Kyra harnesses the power of human insights, strategy, storytelling, and content creation to transform businesses into brands that can be seen, heard, and felt.

In the borough? Kyra can be found with a cool-climate chardonnay in one hand and a copy of Australian Gourmet Traveller in the other. She burns it off by perfecting her jab – boxing’s most powerful punch.

Margaret Lawson

Founder and Managing Director

Margaret has been breaking new ground in public relations practice for more than two decades and has been featured in a book and dozens of news articles. She has lived and worked in London and New York and has represented brands including BP, the RSPCA, Puma Energy, and Harlequin Mills & Boon.

With a bachelor’s degree in business, postgraduate qualification in journalism, and a masters degree in aviation, Margaret is sought after for senior counsel by companies during times of crisis.

In the borough? Margaret is a published songwriter and global traveler who loves experiencing the world through food and wine, popular culture, and nature. She’ll often be found jotting down her latest creative inspiration, notebook in one hand and an oaky chardonnay in the other.
