The Challenge

We Are Brooklyn was entrusted with the task of catapulting Stranded into the spotlight, carving its identity as the latest “must-visit” punk, rock’n’roll destination. Our mission encompassed garnering media coverage to spread the word about Stranded’s unique appeal. We aspired not just to secure immediate visibility, but to also create a comprehensive marketing and communication framework conducive to its sustained growth. The ultimate goal was to solidify Stranded’s name as a unique, fun, and irresistible spot for Brisbane locals.

The Approach

We Are Brooklyn crafted an integrated marketing funnel approach to strategically launch Stranded.

Commencing with audience profiling and the development of a key messaging strategy, we then used this data to inform our creative execution. Our campaign embraced an omni-channel strategy, weaving media relations, email marketing, paid advertising, and social media together.

Crafting a distinct angle for media outreach, we developed a compelling media release. This was pitched to targeted media outlets identified through careful analysis of their audience readership, demographic reach, and content relevance. This was paired with a social media rollout supplemented by a Facebook advertising campaign. Teaser images from our photoshoot were artfully integrated to provide a sneak peek of Stranded Bar’s allure, allowing loyal followers of the launch a glimpse of what was in store.

Our approach culminated in a grand media and VIP event to further elevate awareness. We Are Brooklyn executed each facet of this event, including the creative ideation to asset development, and guest list management.

The Impact

  • Stranded’s grand opening achieved a unique and highly successful launch, amassing a blend of print and digital coverage, across notable platforms such as The Courier-Mail, The Weekend Edition, Urban List, Style Magazines, Broadsheet, Concrete Playground and more.

  • A cumulative reach surpassing 326K+ was achieved through strategic media outreach. This included hyper-local listings and niche placements tailored to directly resonate with the intended audience.

  • The Stranded team’s subsequent venture, a second Valley venue, and a strategic partnership with the prestigious Big Sound Festival speak volumes about their established Brisbane reputation and ongoing relevance, largely bolstered by the monumental launch.
